Going to buy a new polaris next week has anyone gotten the new 600 yet?
Just a few questions. How is the gas milage? We do a lot of riding in the mountains and need lots of gas. Is it a gas hog. I have had about 15 polaris's in the past 2 years and all seem to be great machines how does the 600 seem.
thanks

RealOldGuy,
I have heard the 600's do about the same as the 700's except in the 100 yard drag it will beat the 600 by half a quad length.....not necessarily important but news anyway. I have heard it has good torque and handles most all terrain very well. It rides smooth due to IRS and does well on curves, etc. as far as staying stable. I am in the market for a 600Twin as well and just trying to find a dealer that wont take my head off on the price. Support after the sale is important as well but I have a budget to go on too !!!!
Good luck on your future purchase !!!

the 600 shares the same new-style water pump as the 700.
i have owned three 700s so far and have had NO problems with the front shocks nor has my dealer received any complaints about front shocks. nor have i read a single post on this forum reporting a problem.
2 of my 700s were leakers. that's all! my dealer repaired them with the revised kits. fixed! no more leaks!
gas mileage has been average. i top-off before every ride and always had fuel to spare. most of my riding is in the deep woods and mountains. where i ride, there isn't help for miles and i MUST rely on a dependable, competent ATV....and that's why i ride a Sportsman.

I have 325 miles on my 600. Appears to get from 16 to 18 mpg which is about what I got with the HO. Steering is much better than my HO. The torque is unbelievable. Only 5 zerks on it. Is a great machine.

I got about 65 miles before hitting reserve on my 700 and that was on the first tank. I have not rode a 600 yet but I would think it would be very close to the 700. I can say you will love it. This is the best quad I have ever ridden. I to have not heard of any front shock problems in fact the front suspension is awesome! Maybe if you add a whinch and load up the front rack. 15 polaris's in 2 years? Tell us more. realoldguy which one do you ride the most?
