99 SP500---belt rubs against cover
Hello
My belt rubs against the cover (just started doing this) when I was at weird angles on a trail. I thought the belt was fraying so bought a new one. Opened the cover and the belt was fine. There is a little adjustment nut at the bottom of the cover which allowed me to slightly relocate the cover--so now it doesnt do it.
If this doesn't work, what else could the noise be? Thanks

I HAD TO REPLACE MINE ON MY 98. I HAD THE SAME TROUBLE. POLARIS CAME OUT WITH A BETTER ONE IN 2000. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT HE HAD HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE OLDER ONES. THE NEW ONE IS MADE OUT OF A DIFFERENT MATERAIL RESISTANT TO HEAT. HEAT IS WHAT CAUSED THE OLD ONES TO START RUBING THE BELT AND CLUTCH.

u said that the cluch rubbed the cover on wierd angles.....well that happened to mine to (1992 350L) the motor mount went out on it the there for the cluch would move and rub on the cover.... but when i installed the mount it help out alot!!! but it would still do it some so i figured the frame was either twisting over the aquard angles or the frame was cracked or weld broken...well i hope my info helps as well......but hopefully it was just an adjustment on your cover like u did....
