Not sure if anyone has posted this yet. Just came from the Minneapolis Cycle show. They had the new KFX 700 on display, snapped some pics, then looked at the stat sheet. Dry wt 506 lbs., hmmm, maybe they should've put struts on the front instead of shocks.

That or put wings on it instead of flares. If i am not mistaken it is only 50 pounds heavier then a raptor and 25 pounds lighter then a DS650. No one will know for sure until it comes out...but that 650 v-twin shoots around the 600 pound prairie pretty good. Its going to be interesting...that 700 v will be a solid power plant...my take on it so far is that it will be able to motivate that 500 pounds fairly easy.

Try 107lbs heavier then a Raptor and 16lbs heavier then the DS650.

With the power that thing's going to make, the weight won't be a factor, especially when aftermarket parts for the CVT start becoming available. I'm already 90% sure I'm selling my Scrambler and getting one.

My wife wants to sell her Scrambler and get the Kawi too. I have two issues with that. 1. She's only 120 lbs - do I really want her on an even heavier quad? 2. She can't have a faster quad than me.

GE4x4

Where did you get your numbers...not saying your wrong...but seen a write up on it saying the kawi 700 would come in lighter then the DS650 and just over 50 pounds heavier then the raptor. The raptor weighs in a 400 pounds?

Dry weight of a Raptor is 399lbs. Dry weight of the KFX700 is 506lbs. Dry weight of the DS is 490lbs. These are the numbers.

The Kawi will be a good 50 lbs. lighter than a 4x4 Scrambler.

Thanks KevinM, but she rides the Scrambler 400 2X4. I think it weighs just under 500#. All I know for sure is it's alot heavier than my Z400 and I get to do all the loading and unloading. (maintenance too!)
