Does anybody know the service limit on the drive chain thats located INSIDE the transmission? This one is getting a new one JUST because I have the transmission out and apart. But its just got me to wondering if there is a service limit on stretch.
BTW.. for thse who were wondering, the Scrambler 500 transmission does NOT have the other countershaft for the low range. The finished bearing bores are in the cases, but the other shift arm hole and seal seat would have to be drilled out.
Now, for those WANTING to do it, you could machine your case for the other shift arm and seal, purchase the other shift fork and countershaft, and try it... Its cheaper than the $1500 for parts from Polaris to install a dual range into the machine.
