Default Reverse on Predator

I really do love my Predator. But I have to agree with the rips on it not having a reverse. I still don't understand why they would spend all that money and all that time on R & D, and not put it on.

My question is this: Is it possible, or even probable to add reverse to this machine? Are there shops that would do something like this? Or are we talking more money than it's worth to do it?

Thanks

Scott

Default Reverse on Predator

I was told that Polaris's theory on reverse was quote " You cant win a race goin backwards!!) I was told that by a Polaris engineer/ representitive! Also he said it would have added like 30 pounds to the weight of the pred and they didnt want that. Somebody will build a reverse kit for the pred if the demand becomes great enough. There have been times I wish I had reverse on the pred but I'm surviving well without

Thats a good point polaris makes. From what I heard on the reason for no reverse was. When they started building this machine all that was out was the 400ex and the DS650. They wanted to build a machine with the 650 power but in a 400ex chassis. And they did. But like both of those machines, neither of them had a reverse gear. So Polaris saw no point in adding one either.

I don't miss reverse. I don't need it, I don't want it.
Just ask the 01 Raptor owners about the reliability of the tranny if they use reverse on a regular basis.

Keep in mind the amount of room available to build the tranny in. If you add more components then the existing components would have to be made smaller wouldn't they?
