Lets try this again. Sure can move snow!!!
Just spent a couple of hours moving the 31 cm. of snow we got in the last day or so. Man can this sp500 move the white stuff. Anybody out there using chains? Does it help much? The V blade sure works nice. I had to do the removal in stages as it was too deep to handle in one pass. Got stuck on two occasions and had to use the winch to help myself out. I guess with a little more practice I'll get better. I hope I don't get too much practice though. I'm a lot more anxious to get out mudding in the spring. So what about chains? Any suggestions welcomed.

I had a 600 Grizzly with a plow and winch. I gave it to my Dad last summer since I never got to use it in VA and poor old Dad has to deal with PA winters. This year, Dad went to Florida for the winter and VA got record snow. Talk about terrible timing!!:-)
We hunted in CO at 9600 feet in Nov and a few guys brought ATVs. As with cars, chains make a big difference on quads. If I were buying, I'd get the V-bar chains for just a few more $$.

Chains are wonderful things, I have pictures of my old 95 Ford 1/2 ton ( 2 wheel drive) pushing snow up to the Ford emblem on the grill. I don't use them on my 99 SP335 because the tires are like new, but plan to get them when the tires wear a little. (The guy I bought the bike from told me that the 15" tire size chains will fit on the back of my SP)

Hey danv, I have a sp600 w/a v-plow also.I bought chains the same time I bought the plow and have
never had to break them out yet. However, I do like the option of being able to put them on if I want to.
I agree with ubetrun go with the v-bar chains-gotta love MORE POWER!!
Oh, one more thing, If you bought the Polaris plow-If you caught that part in the manual about not
hitting anything hard-BELIEVE ME heed this advice!! lol Seriously I was pushing back the snow
banks and hit a bank of snow-covered dirt and proceeded to kiss the handlebars
I also busted 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the 2 main sections of the plow frame together.
Happy plowing
