I was reading in the Highlifter honda forum about slack in some of the throttle cables. I was wondering if this was a problem for polaris scrambler 400's. Does this slack stop my machine from reaching its full potential, or is slack something that was designed into the machine. How do I adjust or check if I have the right amount of slackin my throttle cable,or should I even worry about it. Quad seems to work great I was just wondering

That isn't such a big issue with the factory carb as it is withe an aftermarket carb. If your throttle is adjusted at the ETC like It should be according to your owner's manual, you will be ok. Aftermarket carbs, like mine are different though, as you have to adjust for more pull because the slide doesn't always clear the venturi.

You should have 1/8" of slack, or free play in your thumb throttle before you feel resistance. Some Hondas are shipped with 1/2" or more slack. Why? I don't know.
