Default HPD CLUTCH KIT!!!!!!!!!HELP

Hey everyone, yesterday afternoon i worked on my 2003 TrailBlazer 250 putting in the hpd pipe kit, jets, and clutch kit. Well after i put in the pipe and jet, i took it for a test drive just to make sure those two parts were working. I decided to put the clutch kit in since it was still a little light outside. We got the first clutch in, really easy. Then we putthe secondary clutch spring in. that was a little difficult but we got the spring in. The problem comes when we put the secondary clutch spring back into the bike. I powered up the bike and put it into gear (forward). I gave it so much gas but it didn't move. It finally moved when i pushed the throttle to about a little passed half throttle. The acceleration was worst then stock and the speed was bad. Well just to make sure i wanted to see if reverse worked. You could probably guess the answer to that one. NOPE. that bike would not move an inch. Also when im riding and i try to give it some gas to see the power improvement this kit was suppose to give me, the bike cuts the throttle off (doesn't won't to give it gas) and then i have to start up again from a stop position. Someone please help me.........i have talked to some people and they say that the secondary clutch is not wound right. we took the apart again and re did everything.....The bike was still the same. If you have any suggestions pleaseeeee tell me. Thanks

Yep sounds like the secondary to me wasn't wound correctly. You must turn it 1/3 turn and make sure you pass the buttons. It is real easy to test it even with it on the bike, hold the rear of the clutch still and try to turn the front of the clutch ccw, it should be very stiff and hard to turn, if it isn't then you have not wound it right. This is very easy to do especially if you are new to it. Just check it like that to make sure, if that doesn't work or if it is correct then let us know.

That is exactly what the problem is. If the secondary is not wound right there is not enough pressure on the clutches to hold the belt. So now the belt is slipping. This is very tricky if you have never done it before. there are different spring settings depending on what you are looking for but it should be wound the same no matter what spring setting. Once it is right you will see a major difference. Dont get upset and think it is a piece of crap. Many people go through this but once it is right you will be very happy with it.

reset the whole secondary clutch, you can crack a spring, the stiffer is the spring the more the belt will slip but better upshifting, then if the spring is softer give better backshifting and less less belt slipping...
sound like a wrong helix to me tough...

I run both springs on the driven clutch in the #2 setting. Another thing that can also cause this is the buttons disintegrating, which causes the clutch to unwind. That's not your problem right now, but it could end up happening in the future. I just thought I'd throw that useless knowledge in here.
