Hi, I am new here and need some help. I have found lots of great info on this site. But I need some help as I am getting very frustrated with doing the reverse override on me new 04' Polaris Sportsman 700. First, I have tried to hook everything up as described in SNOWRIDE's description on another site, but I don't have just a purple wire at the Speedo connector, I have a purple with white stripe. Now I was using this wire and I get the AWD to work in Forward but not reverse. The mode button works, but I don't get the SLOW and AWD in reverse unless I hold the button. Is the purple with white stripe the wire I should be using? I was using a 5 pin relay and tired to switch between 87 and 87a. On 87a I get AWD and SLOW in reverse, but no function of the mode button. With it on 87 I get AWD in forward gears and mode button works in forward and neutral, but no AWD or SLOW in reverse unless button is held. I have tried a 4 pin relay and I get AWD in forward, mode button works, but no AWD and SLOW in reverse unless I hold the button. I have seen a few ways to do this without the relay, but I want to have full function of the mode button and the reverse override and AWD. I don't think I am wanting too much. Please help anyone. Feel free to PM me as well. Thanks Scott

I just checked my wires coming from the reverse override button. I have 2 browns in one, a red with black tracer, a grey/orange and a thick red with a thick black tracer. According to the way SNOWRIDE says to do it. The wires need are:
Open the pod and locate the wiring harness coming from the speedo.
Relay terminal #30 connect to Polaris brown wire
Relay terminal #87 connect to Polaris wire gray/orange
Relay terminal #86 connect to Polaris wire red/white
Relay terminal #85 connect to Polaris wire purple
Please any more help is appreciated. Thanks Scott

hey I just followed the same instructions and installed one on my EFI and it works great. I used a four pin relay and wired it as described. my suggestion is to check the wiring closely, my atv had three brown wires. a brown with red stripe, a brown with white stripe and a solid brown wire. I used the solid brown wire and as far as the purple wire I only had a purple with white stripe and two darker blue wires so I used the purple with white stripe. I tested it before reassembly, the guage pod flashes slow when in reverse and I took it out and tested it in reverse and it has full power without holding in the button. as far as my 4x4 working I'm not sure I didn't check for that, how would you check for the correct operation of the awd with the modification installed.
