My 2002 trailboss runs just fine until I try to run it top speed. When it picks up speed I can hear a faint miss in the motor like its trying to cut out. any ideas why its doing this? I have never changed the spark plug. is it time to do it? I have had it just over a year and bought it new. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

Yes I would say change your spark plug and make sure your air filter is clean. Also make sure your plug cap is in good shape and seated good. If that doesn't do it, it is probably a carb , vent hose, bad gas problem, or gas delivery problem. Start with the plug and work to the other things.

I was also going to ask if anyone else has had a problem with their trailboss bogging down once its warmed up and been running for a while. I was climbing a few hills and all of a sudden it bogged down and wouldn't run until I choked it. This same problem happened when I was riding in the woods next to the snake river.

 

Did it just bogg down? If it did, how old was the Gas? I had the same problem before and after adding new gas it ran fine.
i do have a 500 Scrambler that runs like sh*t and have yet to find out what the problem is..

When my tboss bogged so bad I needed to choke it; it did have some older gas in it. It wasn't so old it should have been a problem though. My main concern is the miss the motor has when running full speed. I'll pull the plug over the weekend and take a look at it. The past weekend I had filled up with fresh gas and it was still missing just a little.
