Default 250 Clutching

I have a pipe on order and I will need to do some clutch work. Could someone explain the advantages of lighter/ heavier weights. I currently have a EPI orange primary spring and a EPI red secondary. I think the rates for the primary are like 70/140 and the secondary is 45/105 I forget what notches I have it set. Is it really worth the money for a Helix. Someone help me out , Thanks

A lighter weight will give you quicker response and higher revs but more slippage. Heavier weights will grab real good, less belt wear but slower response and lower rpm's. Thats why you need to match a good higher engagement spring with heavier weights. If you are a smaller person then a lighter weight would be ok. A bigger person would have to use a heavier weight.

I am using an HPD agressive kit. It dont engage real high but wheelies like crazy. The agressive kit consists of a red/yellow primary, gold secondary and 58gr weights. The only thing I changed was I went with 55gr weights. I get almost no belt slippage and it pulls hard all the way. I did not go with a helix because at the time I did not have the cash. The HPD kit is $90.
