True, but that is your choice not to wear a helmet. Me personally, I will not risk it ever again. The pros way out number the cons. You will NOT survive a crash on a street bike if you aren't wearing a helmet. It is just plain senseless to me. Personally, I think helmets can look cool. My helmet for my Harley is painted the same mirage color as my bike. It looks really cool. Just my $.02

good point jwb,,, it's not rocket science, even though some
folks seem to think so...their mentality is they've been riding
without a helmet for 5 years so they don't see the need for one.
They can't understand the truth of the matter is they've been
extremely lucky for 5 years even in spite of their own stupidity.

With most machines you can wheelie from a dead start, the auto trans in the Polaris is tricky when it shifts. Standard or clutch-less four stroke quads are easier; the 400ex is king (my opinion). Sitting gives you more control but if your underpowered you may need to yank up the front then sit if possible. Quads are fun but bumps and woops interrupt wheelies. Still rather hang 5th gear on my cr250…. Love going fast on one wheel!
BTW whether 1min or 10hrs I’m head to toe with every conceivable piece of body armor available! And if you’re riding behind me BEWARE OF ROOST! don't be a dumb a$$ please wear gear

I've got to agree that helmets should always be worn. EXAMPLE: I ride a 02' SP700 and have learned the helmet lesson the hard way (almost). I was "just goin' for a 5 minute put-put", and was NOT riding fast or aggressive. Going down a flat 2-trak thru the woods, I came up on a puddle acrossed the entire road - normally I'd blast right through, BUT, I was wearing nice clothes and no helmet, and didn't want to get wet. I drove around the puddle doing about 5-10mph, I hit a rotted tree stump that was hidden under the vegetation, square with my left front tire. The bike flipped over so fast, it threw me off, landing on the opposite side of the trail, in the woods, on my feet, unhurt - boy was I LUCKY. I looked back to find my baby upside-down right in the mud puddle I had tried to avoid. It was SO unexpected and happened SO fast -- "only a 5 minute ride" almost landed me in the emergency room that day. I should have known better.

OH yeah -- I'm a NFPA licensed Firefighter level II - I've been on some accident scenes where helmets have saved lives. Nobody wants to see what happens when you don't.

Keep ridin'safe -- don't give the insurance cronies the safety statistics to raise our rates on ATV's....... ...... Also don't give the stinkin' politicians more reasons to close trails, regulate, etc..... We've got one of the last great sports activities if you think about it.
