653 Rotax are you smoking something or what. Ds650 Stock have like 50 hp top and they do around 75 miles an Hr. Thats to funny

 

Maybe he is lying about the fact that it is stock, but I know for a fact that it puts out 87hp and goes a little more than 110mph. I was shown the results, and they say exactly what I am telling you.

 

i can beleive those numbers, but there's no way that the DS i stock. Either that or the Dyno is way off

how do you take off the spark arrestor on the Raptor. People say you can but how do u and what will happen if you do

 

I have an 04' Baja X and was clocked on gps and radar at 77.8 mph when it was completely stock. My two buddies raptors where clocked at 75.4 and 76.1 respectively. After I added a 17T front sprocket a K&N and RWR clutch springs I was clocked at 81.9 mph and was still hitting the rev limiter in 5th gear. A stock DS has 48 hp at the crank and about 41 - 42 hp at the rear wheel. Theoretically with the rev limiter bumped up to 8400 rpm I should be able to hit around 85 -86 mph. With that rev limiter at 8400 and the addition of a high quality pipe and a gear set up of 17/46 I should theoretically hit right around 94 mph if I can maintain 8400 rpm with the motor in top gear. My speeds have been verified and my theoretical speeds are mathematical, but seem reasonable given that with a RWR pipe and jetting I should be able to make a true 54 hp at the crank.

 

Yep, 60hp isnt tough to get from a DS. Mine posted 59.4 with just a pipe, intake, rejet and cdi ( I dont think the cdi helps with hp but it raises the top speed.) 87hp isnt all that difficult either. Add nitrous or a turbo and you have it. I've never measured my top speed but it should be around 82mph with stock gearing.

Comparing top speed on quads is kinda like seeing who can bungi jump off a building with the longest rope. Kinda interesting to watch but scary as all get out! ("Ok, your turn at 117 feet... here goooees...", thump!)

 

Oh and on another side note.

The Pikes Peaks machines are powerful as heck but theyre not built for top speed. If that race were about top speed the cars would waste them every time.

Those machines are built to slide around those curves as fast as possible and scrub as little speed as possible doing it. That's why they beat the cars. Put em in the open straight with tall gearing and I'm sure they would go much faster than 100mph if you dared.

If youve ever seen the course there arent many long straight stretches.

 

Damn I'm Pissed! they screwed me on my DS! stock i only have about 49hp and the fastest i have ever been able to get it up to was about 75 or so. maybe it has something to do with the air pressure down here in east texas? could be these pine trees sucking up all the air or something? i think i will make a trip across the tracks today and buy me a couple of those special cigarettes and the see how fast mine goes. common rotax!stock? no way!
