What is up with these plastic skid plates on the 450r? I hit a damn rock and the thing breaks right off. Anyways, point is I need a new one. Both belly and swing arm skids, heck while im at it how bout some good nerf bars.

Durablue makes a pretty good plastic swingarm skid, lighter for those concerned with such things. Probably not the best for the rock pounding gncc rider but nice for people who dont come acrossed a whole lot of big rocks and high centers.

I had a gytr on my stock swingarm and liked it, PRM makes good skids for all manufacturers. I'm going to have to get a full chassis skid for my bike when spring hits.

I think they do it to save money and weight. I don't know of a good stock swingarm guard on any sport bike. For the best protection for the buck get the Armadillo (1/4 inch thick). I have the swingarm guard on my Z and Raptor and they were each only $80 at Rocky Mountain ATV.

Have a Bombardier outlander 400 atv. Bought an armadillo plastic skid plate. Predrilled holes did not match up as good as they claim. Skid plate ended up cracking at front mounting bolt. Called to find out if there was a warranty because they are supposed to be soo tough. Told I was out of luck. Not very happy. Cost me $200
