using the clutch??
#21
I've tried shifting without the clutch recently, and I was having trouble with missing shifts and hitting neutral all the time, so just shifting with a quick 2 finger pull on the clutch has been working best for me.

The reason behind manual clutch option and why their on racing wheelers and cars is because they are light weight and you can rev the engine higher than idle and just let go of the clutch to get a jump start on your opponent from the starting line. Try revving the engine on a automatic and popping into gear and see how long the tranny lasts!
The other advantage a manual tranny has is you can make every gear a passing gear by revving it higher than a automatic.
Think about it. anything automatic is usaully heavier than manual things because manual things are just the basics and automatics have something extra to do the work for you.
I think if you are racing, all you'll need the clutch for is first gear. I don't think you'll have a problem and if you r racing you are probably would hurt it more reving too high while out of gear waiting for the clutch to grab.
