Can you name all the hi-performance quads ever made? To name some right now off the top of my head...

Honda 250R, Honda 400EX, Honda 300EX, Kawasaki Tecate-4, Kawasaki Mojave, Yamaha Banshee, Yamaha Warrior, Yamaha Blaster, Suzuki Quadracer(250), Suzuki Quadzilla(500), Bombardier DS-650, Polaris Sport 400

Anymore? Any that should be taken away?

Although not out yet, Gas Gas 300, Polaris' feable first attempt at an ATV the Cyclone, the Trail Blazer (only listed because Polaris defines it as an entry level sport ATV), the newer Scrambler 400 & 500 (although some may disagree since they have 4X4, they are high performance). Dont forget the Husaberg Enforcer's, did they flop or what?

Aside from the Polaris cracks, anyone else have anything to contribute?

I feel that there are some that should be taken away. I own a Blaster, but do not feel that it should be classed as "high-performance." With some mods, they are really fun, however.
The following should not be included: 300EX, Mojove, Warrior, Polaris Sport 400. Keep in mind that this is my opinion....I DO NOT need personal attacks over this.

I can't add any to your list, however I can certainy delete a number of them. one is the Warrior, which is my ride, altho modified, by no means a performance quad in the accepted sense of the word.Likewise the 300ex,Mohave, Blaster,Tecate,400sport. These are all sport quads, some much more "sporty" than others. again, in the commonly accepted sense of the word.I've never heard an actual definition of a performance quad (or bike either) but to me, it is one that can compete in a Nationals class mx or xx race with little or no modifications to engine or chassis. I'm not referring to the pro riders who of course make use of every legal mod available, but the poor little privateer who trucks his Banhee or whatever to the race in the back of his pickup and rides the race. These guys and gals make up the bulk of the entries. you just don't read much about them in the mags.
That's my nickel's worth. You can call a hot corvette a formula one car if you like but that doesn't make it one

one other thought re performance quads.
The common classification is a "performance" quad. Just as there is no "low" performance quad there is no "High" performance quad either. I see many references to the above & it is redundant.

Im not sure why the earlier guy said the Tecate-4 was not performance. The Tecate-4 was one of the fastest High performance quads ever built, too bad they only made them for 2 years. The Tecate could beat both the Suzuki LT 250 R and the Honda 250 R, it just did not have the frame geometry to compete at the MX level nor the reliability of the other 250 R's. I would also put the 400 SPort back on the list. It is quite a quick machine.

So, for the hi-performance list, here's where we're at...

Honda 250R, Honda 400EX, Kawasaki Tecate-4, Yamaha Banshee, Suzuki Quadracer(250), Suzuki Quadzilla(500), Bombardier DS-650, Gas Gas 300

Are there any more true hi-performance sport quads that haven't been listed?

The 250X was a quad similar to their(Honda's) 250R, only with the 250X, they were offering a less race-oriented quad.

Oh, my. The Tecate-4 is 100% hi-performance, isn't it?
