Default Straight up Drag Race

I have never dragged in sand because we don't have any here. But I have dragged grass, dirt, and asphalt. I don't know anything about sand drags and the effects on the machine so I can't make a statement about that. And for raptor999 let me put the same mods on my Quad as you have and have a go, You wouldn't win. You would probabally lose in a straight away with the set up you have now, but I'm sure it would be alot closer than a stock rappy. I can run 7.9 to 8.0 in the eighth (asphalt) at around 70mph given the temp and humidity. In the quarter I'm maxed out pinging off my stock rev limiter at 82mph. Put a pipe, jets and aftermarket rev limiter on my quad and I'll run 7.6 to 7.8 at around 75mph @ 1/8 and top out at about 87-88mph in the quarter.

Sounds like you have a nice ride Cop but who cares about racing with stock machines. Who's faster on any certain day??..............only the guys that line um up are going to know.
You can talk **** about how fast you are and what quad you beat but nobody cares. If you beat me in a race you can talk **** all night long over beers, but come the next day or next weekend, you better be ready to run again. And if I win, paybacks are a b!tch.

Starky come on over and experience a little New York state hospitality. Where is North Dakota anyway? People actually live there? Just Joking dude. I actually plan on hitting minn and N.D. for a bit of ice fishing in the future.

You know where Santa Clause lives, well we're just a little bit North of that.
Bring that DS with you. If we can get it started we'll stud it up and do some ice racing while we fish.
Come to New York, I'de rather take my chances in Baghdad. Besides, I thought the word dropped off once you get past Wisconsin.

For every body out there that think a 250R with just a pipe, filter, and jetting for performance mods is slow then take a good look at my time slip in my profile! Iv never seen ANY 4-banger go that fast with out anything internal.

I think the V-force would take it off the line then be passed by the raptor and ds then the 400ex and z/KFX would bring up the rear.

To me it doesn't really matter, run what ya brung

All the Big Bores like Banshee, Raptor, Ds650, VForce and Predator are all pretty much neck in neck through the gears. On Top End though the Banshee, Raptor, Ds650 start pulling away from the competetion. You can get 2 of the same quads and 1 will be faster then the other. One will outrun another of the same model. They are all very close. Banshees and VForces are awesome to gate but they are back in the midrange but then the Banshee hits that powerband and keeps up and sometimes passes. Depends on if you got a good one. But Stock they all run pretty even but until the top speed the 3 pull away. Seen it so many Times. Then the 400s like KFX and Z are pulling the rear. My Raptor is completely Stock and I run down Stock Banshees and Stuff all the time. But then there are some that just pull away. My buddys Banshee with Stock gearing was going 79 then he put a 15 tooth front Sprocket and now it is going 85. My Raptor with Stock gearing is going 77 and I tried a 14 tooth front Sprocket but it made it go slower because My quad dont have enough power to handle a higher gearing right now. But the Big Bores can range from 73 to 80 miles an hr Stock. 1 can be faster then the other. Thats my 2cents. This might sound dumb but its pretty much true.

Most of the time I see stock quads drag racing its kids which is fine and fun. Once they grow up there find how little this means and the one that wastes the most money will win until someone else waste more. Then in my view its time to have lots of toys, sled, jet ski, quad, lake property, and your really have fun.

The YFZ450 and TRX450R will dominate the short drag races!!! Period, modify all to to stock, banshee dominates, just to much out on the market to modify the banshee with!!!!
