Default blaster vs. z250

I just thought of something else roost, Most people I know finance their quads. It's easier to get a $5000 loan on a quad that costs $5000 than it is to get a $5000 loan for a $3000 quad to use the extra $2000 that you're saving to put mods on it. The z250 is a good, reliable quad that can be modded along the way to do whatever someone needs it to do. Everyone keeps talkin about racing quads for money, but the bottom line is unless you have been racing quads your entire life, their isn't really a need to buy a race quad as your first machine because your not going to be able to compete with the riders who have the experience and fully modded quads to get enough prize money to justify how much you just spent on your tricked out race quad with $2000 worth of mods. So, to conclude, who cares what is faster in a straight line, (unless you're in the dunes dragracing), just get what you can afford that suits you're purpose and not anyone else's.

Ok, the Blaster is faster by quite a bit, has chain drive, and a manual clutch. It's a full sport machine. The Z-250 is doing pretty good for itself to be keeping up with something that is completely geared towards going fast when the Z is a utility with sport plastics. The Z deserves a whole lot of credit. And this is coming from a Yamaha guy. I would take the Z-250 over the Blaster any day, but only because it is more reliable. If I had the money and the time and I wasn't too lazy to fix it every time I rode it, I would get a Blaster. Just my $0.02

u beat the crap out of a Blaster on ur Z250? where they fallin off a cliff? the Z's heavier therefore it would win in that case. but since ur talkin flat ground why dont u come up to talkin rock one day and we will see which will win.

The Z250 isnt a utility quad with sport plastic, thats just roosthrower for ya. It is BASED on the Ozark, but there is more to it than just different plastic. The Z250 has a different exhaust, something in the engines inner workings is different (forget what it was) and there is more suspension travel. The only thing that wasn't changed was the frame, shaft drive and maybe a few minor things, but the Z250 is a good quad. Its definately alot better than a tiny DS80.

ZBlaster, the only place I've been to ride besides at my house is Durhamtown. That's in Union Point I believe. And chrisz250, if you want something where you'll be happy with the power and speed for a while, you might want to look at a 300EX or Warrior.
