Lt250 or 500???need help VERY fast!!!!
I need to know which one would be better for me. I like riding trails and dunes and climbing hills. I am 13 and I am a very experienced rider. I am 6'2" 190 pounds. I need to be able to jump high and go fast. The zilla is a '90 at 2900 and the 250 is 2500 with a rebuilt engine. The zilla only has sand tires. The 250 have both. Reply fast.

Yeah I ride a blaster sometimes just cuz I like the extreme wheelieing ease and it jump pretty good so cramping is not really an issue. Can the Zilla Wheelie good and the main thing I am worried about is that it sont jump good. I need to be able to jump high and go fast. I know the Zilla will be fast. Have you ever rode a warrior cuz when you hit a real steep jump it just shoots you farrword and I dont want it to do that.

I have had mine for several years now, and I will tell you it is plenty fast, and that was before any modifications. However it is not the most nimble quad out there, it's not that it's heavier, but more that it's longer and wider and not easy to throw around once you leave the ground. I can tell you, it is awesome in the dunes, very few rigs can keep up with it, and there isn't a hill it will not climb. Not too bad on trails. When it comes time for me to hit the tracks and jumps I pull out the old reliable 400EX.
For all around you might want to think about the 250. Although I wouldn't give up my 500 for anything else.

yea, i have both. an 85 lt 250r and now an 87 or 88 quadzilla (what year is it if the tag says 11/87 ?, cause is it like cars that they cahnge over after a certain point, or is it still 87)
Both machines are stock as far as performance goes, the Zilla has some aluminum aftermarkets like bumpers, skids, and nerfs.
I would say the Zilla is the better machine all around. It dosent wheelie as nice as a blaster with a 200 lb person oin it, but you can wheelie a lot more just by using the throttle. I really dont enjoy the wheelies where you just jerk it back and can ride it forever, thats what my honda 110atc if for. When actually riding along on a trail or track and you want the front tires of the ground the zilla requires nothing but hitting the throttle and then just mainting the right amount of gas and you can ride with the fronts up all day long.
Now, if you like jerking the bike up, the 250 will be better, cause it is shorter and lighter, but ig you want to use the gas to keep her up, you gotta choose the zilla.

The problem I found with the airborne zilla is that once you hit the take off ramp and you are in a wrong position, it's harder to level out/straighten up then say something like the lt250. I found that when i hit the ramp; it's full throttle and lean back.
