zilla reed spacer
#3
I made a few different thickness ones and dynoed them. None worked. It seems that the 500 has too much crank case volume and reed spacers hurt that even more. Reed spacers seem to work on motors that the reeds block part of the boost port. Alot of Yamahas have that problem. Yamaha tends to run real tight cases which reed motors love.
By the way, I also tried a straight in intake boot and there was an increase but hardly noticable. Not enough to worry about trying to fit one in.
Just my findings.

good to know, i put one on the quad with no noticable diffrence, and in fact it only made the throttle cable take a sharp bend against the frame b moving the carb back. I was going to try to make a couple runs and then remove it quick and see if i could tell the diffrence, but it seems like now it will come off for good.
thanks.
hey, anybody wanna by a slightly used reed spacer for a zilla?
