Default I am outta my mind!

No I am not looking for a quadzilla. though i wouldn't mind having one
I was just curious i want to make a quadzilla look alike but on a lt230 frame.

BTY the dr650 motor is a four-stroke with a tachometer and speedometer. It registers 120. had it doing 115 that was fast enough for me and it was stilling pulling.

1992 suzuki dr650 "stock" 9.3 1/8 mile

Thanks for the kind words. It is far from done. It is a blast to ride, but i do have a few engine mods planned. First will be cylinder spacer and true squish head, then porting and carbs.

As far as plastic goes, it you can modify the frame to fit the engine, then adding brackets and mounting points for the plastic should be a piece of cake.

With that much power, and extra wieght, you had better gusset the frame up pretty good.

The bike in stock form supposedly has about 46hp and i planned on just a little re-enforcing the frame but i wanted the bike to look alot like a stock chassis and not some thing like a monster. Until you get a good look at the motor.

One other thing how much does a stock lt230 weigh with out a rider.

I don't know the exact wieght of the 230 Quadsport. The 230 Quadrunner has a claimed dry wieght of 368lbs. So you have to subtract about 25 pounds for the battery and starter. The parts of the frame that you need to gusset would be covered by the plastic. The weakest link is up under the seat. The frame always cracks on the chain side. I have a frame upstairs if you want to snap a pic and draw an arrow on it.

I added some reinforcements to my frame and painted them 'Suzuki blue' (see pics). You can barely tell they are there.

If the quadsport frames tend to crack with probably less than 20 hp, the power of the DR engine will wreck that frame pretty quickly. It would suck to finish your project and have the frame crack right away.
