Default Replacing Lt250R Clutch

Hey I can't seem to get my clutch right it's always been a little off, I have adjusted it a bunch of times and it's still grabbing just a little when I have it pulled all the way in. So I was going to replace it, who makes a good kit for it and is it somthing that I can do or should I just take it to a shop.
Thanks for ur help!

howdy your clutch should pull ever so gently when you have the lever in. what oil ya runnin. i replaced mine and it pulls slightly. i even had it looked at by a buddy that does alot of wrenchin on bikes and says it ok. i also used the little arm from pep that helps with the clutch pull. you shoud set your lower adjustment just so the cable is snug then use your lever adjustment to fine tune it. you want a little play at your lever so you know your clutch is relaesing completely.just mess with it a bit or ask a friend that is knolegable on this subject to look at it for you...

You should run an oil like Belray gear saver that is designed for 2-stroke trannies. The clutch lever should be setup so that you can slide a nickel in between the lever and the perch before you feel any resistance. Also, if you have an aftermarket clutch like a Barnett, it might creep a little when you have it in gear with the clutch pulled in, even with everything setup correctly.

The Service Guide says to use a 20W-40 but most of the bel ray stuff is heavier. What weight do you run?
Thanks

I use the Bel-Ray gear saver that I mentioned above which is a 80W and Motul transoil which is a 10W40. Both are designed for 2 stroke gearboxes.

80 Weight is pretty heavy for the clutch is'nt it? I'll look in to the bel ray products though. How often do you change the oil? because I took it out after like 3 trips to the dunes and it looked pretty dirty.
Thanks for the help.

After every 2nd ride, which is kinda expensive and a pain but alot of dirtbike mx guys I've spoken to change it after every ride. 80 does seem a little high but I don't notice any difference in shifting between the belray and motul. Glad I could help.
