Suzuki still make Vinson 5 speed???
#1
I am maybe in the market for a 4x4 ATV, and I am interested in the Vinson,
but only if it is available in the 5 speed.
Does anyone know if Suzuki still offers this?? I hope they do, otherwise I'll
hafta think about a bellt drive...YUK!!
I am one of those riders that likes to shift...

Yep, they still make a manual. Red, green or yellow. msrp is $6399.00. For what it's worth, the red fenders are about half the price of the other two colors. (if you ever need to replace one.)

My friend is the same way about a belt driven machine. He has only had a manual and is nervous about getting anything else. I was the same way but after rideing my new one I can not believe how much ease there is to operating. No more wondering what gear I am when I am committed to a hill and losing speed or going down the hill thinking I can just shift down one more gear to slow me down because King Quads like to eat brakes and finding that next gear down is neutral. From what I am seeing and what I am hearing there is going to be few if any manuals in the utility market in a few more years. Might as well get used to them or buy a couple of them and this way you can have another one in the garage when you wear out the first one. AlaskaBoy.

Thanks for the info.
MTVinny Rider, how do you like your manual Vinson?
I sure hope that they dont discontinue making manual 4x4's, but I guess
I may as well face the fact that they probably will. I may be mistaken, and
correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the Vinson the largest available as a
manual?
I am gonna go talk to my dealer later in the week.

Still??? Zuki just started making the 5sp.
The autos are becoming so popular because they are funner and very reliable. The belts of today last a l..o..n...g time.
I agree with alaska boy. I was a manual believer until I got the auto. I only got the auto so my wife could ride it. She still doesnt like to ride but I sure do!! The bigger bore machines can run the auto so much stronger than the smaller machines of old.
This weekend we went out and when I was running up a steep hill next to my brother (5 sp 450 Foreman) I shot past him when he had to shift. On steep hills, up and down, the auto keeps the engine in its peak torque range. Its so much smoother and there are so many companies coming out with clutch kits that you can make the auto exactly the way you want it. With the improved engine braking on the autos they perform very well on hills.
