Are you referring to the first photo? That could hurt or flatten a tire. AlaskaBoy.

yeh , no problem on the pics, ill have to dig out my CD that they are saved on. Yea, im not sure about Yamaha, but i know that my Honda and Kawasaki filters and friends suzuki are definatly not a Fram. This subject really is very interesting. I am curious as to what my new vinson filter looks like inside too. I havnt really looked at the filter yet to see what markings it has. We had a big discussion about this on my Sprotbike clubs internet site last year. Maybe i can dig up the actuall whole story in our archives. OK i just sent an email to my bike buddies to see if they could dig up the story for me. I cant remember when it was or what section it was under. I will post some info ASAP. The pics refer to canister type filters only , such as what are on Vinson. But for anyone out there who has something different, a cartrige filter internal type, on a different model quad, Close inspection will show there difference too. They are most commonly very similar. Also you can find good repoert on FRAM auto filters online, I will only use a Purolator, Wix, and a couple others in my autos. Fram is known for causing the dry pinging in some engines when they are first started due to leakby caused by poor manufacturing,in autos and bikes where the filter needs to stay somewhat primed for quik pick up. ill get the info ASAP though for you all.

Thanks Zex. Please PM me when you get something. Just click on the lil lock over there in the right corner.

Its good to have a fellow street biker here. Ya gotta admit that 40mph in the woods seems faster than 110 on the street. , but there is nothing like going a buck fifty!!!

hey guys. Well instead of sending you the info that we had ourselves, Im sending a link that one off my bro's sent me. It is more indept than our study and shows some good info. And to point to the comment about the yamaha filter, well just check out the site it will give you a good suprise. On the left side of the page you will note links to several brands of filters. Check them all out.

zex, so I was not to far off on my statement about the oem filter. Glad I did not pay 14 bucks for it. Looks like I need to start looking for some different filters. AlaskaBoy.

Man, that really screwed up my thinking. I guess I believed all the hype of the fram. I'm not looking for the cheapest filter, I want the BEST!!!!

I'm sending and posting that link anytime I can.
Thanks Zex for another example of the greatness of this forum!!!
