Hey just thought I'd put my .02 in this convo.
My friend had an 86 LT230s and he won a radio contest...got a $1,000 for it{contest}
put all the money into his motor {he used to ice race} lots of trophies!!!! This bike would
SCREEM !!! He was making the LT250R'S look silly out on the ice makin the passes on the turns and
keepin'em behind on the straights ! I've tried to keep up with him on my '89 LT250S and couldn't
do it!! Theres NO WAY I would ever knock the potential in those 230s machines, they are a GREAT
machine and CAN be LIGHTNING FAST!!!! Just put $1,000 into the motor and see for yourself!!

 

But if you dropped $500 on one of those lt250r's motors it'd smoke the 230 for sure.

 

True MBROOKS420, it doesn't take alot of cash to mod the 2 stroke, compared to the 4.
But...but, I'm tellin ya don't underestimate the 230's power in moded form. It 'll sneek up on ya
and have ya wonderin what just happened!! I LOVE ALL SUZUKI'S! Don't get me wrong..
the LT 250r is one of my favorites, but there's also the 230s that if moded to a respectable form
WILL keep you on your toes!I'm tellin ya DON'T UNDERESTIMATE IT, thats where people go
wrong.

 

I know the 230 well, and have first had experience with one that was pretty well modified. They are a great woods/hillclimb bike.
