Default Problem with Eiger

It was very close to getting the mud in the air box. As it was, it did take some crap in, probably from rocking the Eiger. I have never drowned it out, very lucky in that respece. It still took a quad hooked to me with it's winch, another quad tied onto the first with a rope, and his winch around a tree to get me out! It had to be at least 2/3 full of mud! The hole was very deceiving, once I got in, it just kept going down!

Default Problem with Eiger

03 manual;

I have to say for the most part I am impressed with the utility side but not as much for trail riding. Suspension seems stiff and the front end makes a lot of noise. Sounds like slip differential changing form side to side but it is in 2wd. When I make rapid left to right or vice versa I get a bit of a noise. Has done it from day one now has 88 mi and going in for first check up. Is it something unusual???

I can't say that I have had that problem. Here are the problems I have had:

Crap in the carb, 800 miles became apparent, inline fuel filter took care of it
Loose tie rod ends, 850ish miles, tightened them up and used blue lock tight
Foot peg loosened up, 850ish miles, tightened them up with blue lock tight
Noise by clutch, 1000 miles, don't know what the problem is, noise seemed to go away

As for trail riding, I can't complain at all. For me, the suspension is right on and handles very well. (By the way, I am 6 foot tall and around 260ish).

Noise from the front end?!? That's weird.
Suspension TOO STIFF?!? How much do you weigh? I'm about a buck fifty and I've bottomed the front end on a few whopper jumps at the dunes, and even coming down hard from a wheelie.
You better take that thing in a get the noise checked out soon, your warranty is your only hope.

And EigerRider04, sorry, I DID read Vinson, even though it said Vision. Oops!

Default Problem with Eiger

Round here we got mud with no bottom. With the stock tires I stay on top of it but if you spin a little they break thru and yer sittin on yer skidplates. The guys with the 589s stay away from this mud since they break thru right away. I tried to wedge a 12 foot long tree limb under the rear tire and the entire log pushed into the mud. I had to walk 2 miles to get help. Now I got a winch.

I ordered 26" mudlites but they are having a hard time getting the 26/9/12 size for the front. I'll post a full report when I get em. We went to windrock this weeekend and the eiger held her own.

We rode in a group of 25 people with about 9 big prairies. On the long gravel roads the big bores ran away from me but on the rest of the ride the eiger was always in the top 5. Rider input had a lot to do with it but without such a great machine the rider couldn't have rode so hard. I'll be making new skid plates since they took such a beating.

Default Problem with Eiger

Got my Eiger stuck for the first time on flat land. I tried going through a really muddy area that cows have tromped and turned into a swamp. Don't think it should really count as being stuck though. I eased into it, and my dad was on it with me. Combined we weigh about 450 lbs. I was running stock tires, too. I went through it about half a dozen times after letting him off, and never got stuck again.
