1988 Quadracer 250 info please?
I just bought an 88 quadracer last saturday, but it needs a new clutch. How hard would it be for me , who has some garage experience to replace the plates myself, and ofcourse with the Help of the manual.
Also the quad is completely stock , and i was wondering about how fast should this atv be once fixed, because I really have yet to get a feel of the power it is supposed to have? Thanks

Replacing your clutch plates should be no problem at all if you have any wrenching experiance, especially if you have a manual as stated. Just remember to soak your fiber plates overnight in oil before you replace them. I suggest replacing both steel and fiber plated and all springs as well if you have just purchased the quad. There's no telling if the previous owner has ever changed them!
You should be able to get 70+ MPH out of the quad with no problem depending on what is done to it. If the motor is stock, my first recomendation would be to get a pipe and silencer, a good air filter (either a dual stage foam or a K&N paper type), and a good reed cage and some reeds. That alone will help out a lot. After that, sky is the limit!
Good luck and have fun with the new toy.

i have an 86. i have a FMF fatty pipe and silencer, FMF torque reeds, stock cylinder bore and barrnett racing clutch... man you could also play around with your front and rear sprockets, that will mess with you low end and top end speeds. you could also try different oils. i run H1R in mine at 40:1... it has been clocked close to 90 MPH... good luck man anything else just ask...
