Anyone own a Vinson 500 4x4?
Thanks CC. It was a big hit in the 'hood as well. We've got 6 other riders out here, and a few of 'em took pic.s next to it. Needless to say, the kids loved it. He!!, I've even had a couple of requests..............$$$$$
Oh, and the headlight and goggles are made from a "mirror-fix" kit I got at Autozone. You can cut that stuff w/ scissors. The tail light is a reflector that I trimmed down w/ the trusty ol' angle grinder. My wife put a spot light on it, and they look "lit" when you drive by. A sense of humor is like a pulse.........you're dead without it!

I've raced both of my '02 Vinsons at the Cherry Creek National Hare & Hound Scrambles last year. That race pounded them bad. We were the only utilities in the ATV class and I placed 17th out of 26. Not bad for my first race.
I lost a axle nut cover, and loosened a tie rod end when I hit a tree with the left front wheel. The tie rods didn't break or bend.
Quite honestly, I was surprised at the beating they took.
Last year, at 2000 mi., I bought a couple of new transmission belts and changed them. I should have saved my money. The original belts looked like new and now I keep them as spares.
I'm getting 30+ mpg out of each machine. One has around 2700 mi. , the other around 2500 mi.
I've had the black tank plastic split on both machines just due to poor design (in my opinion). Suzuki replaced the plastic on both machines - out of warranty. The new plastic has held up well and seems better made.
These have been the best ATVs I've owned. I firmly believe that with Suzuki, you get the same high reliability that Honda has a reputation for, but for hundreds of dollars less. I think Vinsons are the best bang for the buck. But of course, I'm biased.
Good luck on your decision.

Anyone read the Summer 2004 issue of ATV Magazine? I just happened upon it today. They had a shootout between 8 quads. AC 650, Bomb. Quest 650, Rincon, Prairie 700, Sportsman 700 twin, Suzuki Vinson 500 & Grizzly 660. It stated that they used the Vinson because the twin peaks was not out yet.
The Vinson was in the top three for fastest from 0-15, 0-25, & 0-40 done with radar.
The Vinson (0-40 5.84 sec.) beat the Rincon (0-40 9.80 sec.) by a large margin.

My Vinson has been great! Most my friends have larger quads and mine can go anywhere they can and can go every bit as fast too. It may not have as much power as the larger 700s but for the price you can't go wrong. I can't see why anyone would need anything larger. Check out my PICs...I've been everywhere!!!!!!!!
