My 89 zilla is starting to not shift into 2nd gear under hard acceleration when speed shifting it seems like it will not go into 2nd or hits neutral and a couple times it goes right into 3rd from 1st .It seems fine under normal riding but when drag racing is when the problem occurs.What should i expect to have it fixed and who would you suggest doing it?Thanks Jason

 

When I had tranny problems (popping out of gear, hard to shift) I took mine to a local shop that only does ATV work. I pulled the engine from the frame, then took the cylinder off and took him the bottom end. Labor to split the cases was only $100. He replaced all the shift forks and some various small pieces. No problems since. You could send it to a bigger shop (Trinity, LRD, Etc) but be prepared to pay!
