What would be the first thing I should upgrade on a 1989 LT250R ??? Its mostly just stock right now.

 

Definatly an exaust system. Get a Pual Turner exaust.

On just about all 2 strokes the first upgrade should be a pipe. Porting does a world of difference as well.

 

yea but i wouldent get porting untill you get other mods. this would be my upgrades in order. 1: Full Exaust system 2:K&N/UNI w/jet kit 3ed.. i dunno im 2 drunk ill tell ya later

 

hmm...well being as old as it is...if i had the money, it would be between a nice exhaust/filter/jet kit and new shocks...shocks would probably make you faster on a track than any exhaust...What kind of upgrade are you looking for?? Looks, Motor, or suspension??

 

I am looking for it all. but i just dont want to waste any money buying the wrong stuff. These forums and really helped in finding products.
I just purchased the fmf fatty pipe and silencer so I guess im off to a good start.

 

you are a funny guy! you ask, they tell you fmf sucks and paul turner is the best pipe. so you go and get an fmf just so you can realize the mistake you made down the road and have to buy another pipe and have a spare one cause who is going to buy a used fmf pipe for a lt. you could of at least got like a ftz or somthing.
and yes i have an fmf but that is one it came on it when i bought it, two i haven't found a good pipe other than trinity which i don't have the money for.

 

ok, 1st off, FMF doesnt suck, their very good for their price, but their not the BEST. its still a big power boost. also, just get a K&N and take lid off and re-jet. I had a clamp on, and its just not worth it. i rhode in the pits for about 3hrs, and it was completely dirty.
