Default KING QUAD EVALUATION

I lost my rev. after 300 miles. We'll see how long it takes to get that fixed. Parts could be a problem.

King quad low end power... My perspective its not like the prairie's or brute for low end, but better than ANYthing else. I also do not have that hesitation some complain about..??? I have a winch on mine and its very easy to stand up in high or low. It's easier to wheelie than my prairie 650.

One thing I notice is if you are at a dead stop it doesnt have the punch as if you are barely rolling and then punch it.

QUOTE,
''the low end on the KQ BLOW's''

That is a redicules statement or your KQ has a problem!I'll admit when im drag racing someone, that from 0-9mph in HIGH range, the KQ is a little doggy.HOWEVER,for chores that require LOW RANGE,select low range on your shifter, push the OVERRIDE button IN,and you got ALL the low end you'll EVER need to perform duties that REQUIRE a good low range. The KQ needs NO extra help in this department.

If you want to see a BAD low range on a quad, you should ride a Honda Rincon. It does'nt even have a low range.

80 is way to fast on trails, unless they are logging trails.but still to fast, if a deer would come out, it's all over and going that fast, you can'y enjoy the nice views of the ride, and what about other people on the trail! slow down and live!

I have 26 inch 589s on my King Quad and have NO problem at all with them in serious mud ect,as long as I use LOW RANGE.

Muddy4life, you said in a previous post that you push the override in low range. Does that give you more power, even when you aren't in reverse or difflock?

No wheelies here low or high, except over logs.

I have 25 hours on my KQ so far so good. The following are some of my obsevations.

Likes: EFI ( great not playin with a choke )
Ride position
Controls
Handling ( Tight Trails )
IRS
Shocks ( Adjustible )
Power ( Ok but could use more low end )
Finish ( Very Good )

DisLikes: I have to say not many and I have owned and raced 230QS/ 250r/ QZ / 300EX / 400EX / Z400 / Recon quads and have had seat time on many others

This being my first BIG Quad with IRS I am very pleased with its ride and handling for a big machine. I am a very agressive rider and find myself looking for lines that I dont have to anymore but that may get an inexperianced rider in trouble because its easy to go fast over rough areas at speed. The Shocks are to soft from the factory for my riding style but good thing they are adjustable. As I get more time On the KQ I will report more. I will be going UPstate Main next week in some very bad condition but good for testing this new machine.

If you have any questions about the KQ I will be happy to answer them

I would agree with everythig CAM650 had said.
