Default Vinson Belt Slip

WOW That is the same thing my vinson does. I have been wondering what the he!! it is. When I break hard then go again there is a slight hesitation then a squeel and a jerk. My thoughts were that under hard breaking the belt gets in a "bind" due to the abrupt stop of momentum on the pulleys behalf. Then the belt has to "reseat" per say when you start off. thus resulting in the noise and jerk. this was my general idea all this time. I wonder what it really is and if im close. hasnt been a problem though.

While we are on the topic of what our machines do, how about the backfiring? Mine will backfire after riding fast and on the slow down at times it will backfire. I did not notice this for the first few months, but has occured lately. Why is this and what should one do about it?

Had a problem like that, after going thru some water, just would not go, got pulled out. then drain the cover, still nothing, into shop.found out the clutch bearing went bad.the belt did have some teeth missing,so replaced the belt also,no problems since that. what a nice machine for riding, snow plowing also great!also found out where the air intake is for the belt housing,a good place for water to get in.drain it after a day of water crossing.
