I am totally on the side of the customer but the dealer shouldn't have to lose his rear end to provide for the customer! I would be extremely disapointed if the dealer said that he would not warranty my drive train problems because I changed tires! This dealer is sucking up to Suzuki by nitpicking about what is warranteed and what isn't. You don't make any money from suzuki so you as the dealer ought to do what you can to please the customer not defend the company. That would be like my dad's dealer not warranting they 100,000 mile drive train on his pickup just because he put on tires other than stock!

people quit defending the dealer because he had absolutely no reason for not warranting the drive train! this would not stand up in court or in the minds of the average person......i would go to a different dealer because they tell you at least in the owners manual of my yamaha what voids the warranty and tires is not one of them! exhaust and engine mods do (esp the air filter) ....i don't have this in front of me but i did read the owners manual from cover to cover!

READ YOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you have rights .....fight for them !!!!! the soldiers doi everyday and you should be no exception!!

Here is another in favor of a good dealership. My dealer quoted me $540.00 for a 2500 Warn winch with install. I agreed. I left the Grizz there for the morning, was supposed to be done around noon. They called around 11 and said it will be closer to 4 (some bs about the shop got slammed, etc. etc.) oh well, OK, not a problem, I understand. I get there to pick it up, the bill comes to $655.00. HA HA HA no way. I tell the service writer that I was quoted 540. He looks at me and says, "No problem, we will just eat the $100.00." He didn't get verification, didn't ask anybody what I was quoted, nothing, he took me for my word and discounted the bill. These guys are outstanding. They are TNT Motorsports in Laramie, Wyoming. Go there for all of your ATV, Snowmobilling, dirtbiking, streetbiking, whatever. I highly recommend. I also bought the Grizz there after the dealership in Cheyenne wouldn't come down on the price. This is funny, I looked at a red grizz at the Cheyenne dealership and they would not come down on the price, acted like I was offending the guy. So, the wife calls the Laramie store (45 miles away) and asks them thier lowest price. it's four hundred less. I tell her to relay to them that I will be there at the end of the week to pick it up with cash in hand. I get there, pick it up, and leave. Andy was an awesome guy to deal with. I get home and the title says it was bought from the Cheyenne dealership. I ended up buying the same grizz I looked at. Aw well, guess you had to be there.

I'd also like to know why , if there was a problem from the get go, you didn't take it back to the dealer you bought it from ? I still don't think we are getting the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help him quad.

If it is true that there was a problem from day one, and judging from your reactions and how you inappropriatly manifest your frustrations I would be willing to bet you got pissed off and ran the crap out of the atv doing your best to damage it out of spite, thinking since it was under warranty you were somehow getting back at Suzuki. Like someone else said, only you really know.

Hondabuster your right, if the tires aren't spinning and you continue to pull, especially in high under a load the pressure is going to get transfered through the drive train and the bike is eventually going to a find the weakest link, bigger/better tires will only accent this by raising the amount of power the atv can put through the drive train before it will spin the tires.

Americanpride, tipping your dealer is an awfully kind gesture, but I personally would not feel right taking a tip. Although one time a customer gave me like ten bucks and try as I might he refused to take it back, he didn't know but I put it in the register and the next time he came in I took ten dollars off his bill. Also out of all the dealerships I've worked in I've never had any customer come in with any kind of a present during the holidays, I had never even considered it really, well christmas eve the shop table was over flowing with cakes, fudge, cards, and very thoughtful hand made gifts from a whole bunch of our customers, I've never worked in a dealership I didn't enjoy(ok well Acura kind of sucked, but only because of one manager) but I've never had a such a sense of pride in any place I've worked before. Anyways enough promoting myself and my dealership, I think you guys that took the time to read what I've said get the point that we aren't an evil stealership.
ask your mech why did he tell to drive in low range on flat ground going across and kindness sounds really good for your dealer . and no i dont run the **** out of bike i buy 8000.00 bike i expect it to pull a 120Lb log

I certainly would. By the way the dealer explained it and the way he handled it the dealer needs an apoligy. Do you not realize you could have easily worked this problem out like a civilzed person? If you would have just stated your problem and maybe throw the dealer 5$ as a tip this whole thing could have been resolved. An example, before I bought the z400 my son would go in and bug the dealer all the time and usually not even buy anything. I'm not sure if he was bored or what but he loved to talk to the dealer. The dealer was very nice to my son and never shewed him away. Therefore when I did buy the z400 I gave the guy $75 for just putting up with my jabbermouth kid, be nice to people, things in life will be much better.

sorry to disagree with you but my dealer said yamaha pays for all of the warranty hours they turn in to them as well as parts ......so providing good warranty is for a dealer to turn his head the other way and fix the problem! again this is what my dealer has done to my friends quads for them!!!
Actually what your refering to is called fraud, if they lie to Suzuki, how can you trust they won't lie to you also? I'd prefer a dealer that is honest 100% of the time, whether it hurts or helps me atleast I know they are being truthful. I actually have a friend who worked at a different dealer who will remain nameless, he was fired for doing exactly what your talking about, and thats not something I would ever do, but just for the sake of conversation, if i was to do it, it certainly wouldn't be for someone that treats us like that.

I think its kind of sad that you say you don't care if you have to pay more in the end because you know your getting free warranty work. Maybe its profitable for you, but what about the honest people and honest dealers that have to watch prices rise every year? Also if I was your dealer and I found out your posting this online I would be severely pissed, I'm sure they'd think bragging about their illegal activities online is a great way to thank them, just cross your fingers this never gets back to them or Yamaha.

My only question is, not for or against anybody here, but if you say a dealer gets payed by Suzuki to do warranty work why would they turn you down, well either it could be the person brining in th atv to be fixed was an A!$ Hole or I have heard of dealers turning you down for warranty work in hopes that they are your only choice and will charge you more than Suzuki will pay them. Kind of like going to a Doctor for medical reasons, insurance will only pay a certain rate but the Doc may want more and youll get charged what ever is over. So the dealer turns you down cause he's only gonna get $35 an hour for the work and Suzuki knows it only takes 2 hours so they pay the dealer $70 plus parts. Well the dealer says NO warranty work and charges the customer $45 an hour and 3 hours of labor, ive seen things similar to this before. But that may not be true in ATV world but it sure as heck is in auto world, it happened to me. So I went to another dealer and they told me this and I was nice and they covered me under warranty.
