Default lt250r jetting help paul turner/yeah i searched

Well i finally got my 88 quadracer together. It is completely stock except for a PAUL TURNER pipe and a fat boy silencer. My manual calls for a 240 main jet and and a 37.5 pilot for stock jetting.I use the stock air filter and airbox too. What jetting should i start with.I know i should go richer, but how far. I am not going to start it until i get a safe size jet in there. Like i said its stock besides the pipe, bored .040 over, and fresh top and bottom end. I just need a "safe" jetting size to start with. Please help im afraid to start it without a safe jetting size. oh yeah 88 lt250r

start with a 270 main @ ~ 500-1500 above sea level... you will have to change the needle clip also but that will come with the finer tuning. It will run with the 240 in it but will be a little lean (not enough to burn a hole through thr piston). Also remember that when you read you plug you are looking for color not at the tip but more toward where the porcelien meets the metal (by metal i mean the body not the electrode).

I would stick with the 37.5, buy a 40 if you feel the need. But with just a pipe I think the 37.5 should be fine.
