Default '03 ltz400 tires and shocks

I got Jet Kit, Aftermarket airfilter and LRD full exhaust. Now i need new tires very badly. I want to get Elka suspension new nice tires. I want RAZR in front and back but im afraid it might cost too much. I am thinking about getting RAZR2's in the back and kenda's in the front.

My question does my idea with the tires sound good? And if so what type of RAZR and (if you suggest kenda) what type of kenda. And i know nothing about Elka suspension so what type would you suggest with that. I ride trails, and in a gravel pit which is really no different then MX because of the jumps and the amount of racing we do there.
PLEASE HELP

I have an 03 Z too. I have razr 2's in the back...couldnt love them more. Expensive, but im buying them from here on out. They're great. Just mounted kenda klaw's up front. I wanted holeshot Xcr's but they were too expensive. I've heard good things about the kendas so I went with them. Regular Razr's are only a few dollars more than the kendas though. If i could go back, id prolly get those, but im sure the kendas will be fine. Just got elka suspension for the front too. Nothin fancy, no reservoirs or anything. I ride a lot of track and trails. From the research i did, it seems like you only need the reservoirs if you plan on racing. I got them from alba but they messed up my order so Im sending them back tomorrow and theyre sending me the right ones, so unfortunately I cant tell you how much better they were, but from what ive heard, its going to be awesome. I cant wait to put them on. Hope that helped a little, if u have any more questions, just ask, theres lots of helpful people on here

awsome response. So Razr2's in back and kenda klaws in front. Then just regular elka suspension. How much you think tires will be all together? And shocks price seperatly.

I paid 465 for my front elkas through alba. Just the recreational model. If i were you, id look into getting them directly through elka if they aren't too much more money. That's your call though. I dont know if you plan on doing the rear shock. I dont know too much about that. I'm going to wait a year and then have mine resprung and revalved.

The best place I know for tires is www.rockymountainatv.com I paid 39 dollars a piece for the kenda fronts and 78 a piece for the razr2 rears. So thats 235 dollars for the tires before shipping. I'm not sure how much shipping is.

www.rockymountianatv.com great place for tires and good prices. as for the shocks I would get them from Elkasuspension .com
they will make them to what you have and how and where you ride and the cost is about the same and it only takes a few weeks

checked out that site and its great. I think i can spend $150.00 for tires so RAZR 2 in front and back is probably the best thing right? And also should i just get the biggest tires or does it matter?

if your gonna jump you dont want soft settings for your shocks because they wil bottom out easily. for trail you dont want extremely stiff because that will be uncomfortable. as for the tires you dont want to just get the biggest because that will change your gearing.

larger tire=faster top speed slower accelleration,
smaller tires=faster acceleration but slower top speed.

i just got the same size as stock but it still added like 2 inches of width because of the wheels.

if you get the shocks from elka you need to tell them how and where you ride and they will set the shocks up that way
