KQ reverse (suzuki's fix)
#11
OK now here is something to think about.
Assuming - at this point still an assumtion- Suzuki fixed the problem with the redesigned bearing I pose the following:
Will people still be stuck with the de-tuned ECM?
Is this fix strong enough not to have to worry about the reverse restrictions?
Even if it is strong enough what do you wanna bet Suzuki stays with the new de-tuned ECM as insurance against putting more stress on what still may be a less than optimum part so they don't have to pay to swap out ECMs yet again on effected machines?
Even if the new bearing fixes the problem there are still some things to be considered.

It is said that they will stick with the new ecm for now.. I have the new ECM and i dont have a problem with it as of yet.. It seems fine.. This talk about Just Canadian KQ's being fixed and not USA models sounds kind of strange to me.. Why would Suzuki do something like that? Unless its just a test and the canadians are the ginnie pigs.
The dealer that received the replacement parts from suzuki (as seen in picture) is from Canada. Someone posted on the forum saying this was just for Canada and not the USA..
I guess nobody really knows whats going on now... But we do know they are attempting to solve the problem... The pictures do show that. We will have to wait this one out a while i think.

how does that "new" ECM affect your reversing....I mean to say that I will be plowing snow with it and worry that it will slow me down by limiting my speed and time in reverse. What do you think since you have used it with both the old and new ECM?

According to 2 people who posted on Highlifter's forum, Suzuki Corporate Customer Service is denying that there is a bearing fix. All replacement parts are of the same original design. Clearly this is not the case with the replacement parts that Snapshot has shown pictures of. Could it be that Suzuki doesn't want to get the rest of us wanting that change? What's going on Suzuki?!

neversunk,
In reverse with the new ecm the limiter will kick in at about 6 mph...Just hit the override button and your good to go. The only difference that i noticed was how soon the limiter kicks in. I do believe The old ecm kicked in about 10-12 mph in reverse. Believe me, it’s really no big deal.
BigBang
We really have no idea what Suzuki is doing .....but with the photos that snapshot has of what they (suzuki) sent him for repairing the problem, I would have to believe him over someone else at this point.. Remember most Suzuki dealers and reps have no clue what going on with this. Some don’t even know there is a problem... Those dealers can have many SAMURI swords diplayed on their walls for great sales achievements and still not know what’s going on.
