Default LTZ250 Choke

Since day one my 04 LTZ250 has had to be manually chocked for 5-10 minutes or it will die on me. I assume it 's an adjustment that is needed but I have yet to mess with anything mechanical on it. Can anyone shed some light on my next move?

Thanks,
Chuck

The idle circuit is too lean to take over when the motor is still cold. Try going 1/4 to 1/2 turn richer (out), on the mixture screw, this only effects the idle circuit.

Hey, no problem.
Just remember, when the temperature and humidity go up this summer, it might be a bit rich at idle, and youll want to turn it back in, that 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Heres a site, with symptoms of rich and lean, so you can keep an eye on that.

Also, you have to drill out that little brass cap that covers the mixture screw. Its all the way on the bottom of the carb. towards the front (closest to the motor). You may have to loosen the intake boots and turn the carb to the side a little bit. Its easiest to work from the side withOUT the exhaust on it. Hope this helps.
