do you still need help with this problem?

 

im pretty sure you just line up the three punch marks correct? explaion it to me if you have the time that would be great

 

I too made the same mistake, and came to this forum for answers, thanks a bunch man. One question though, the last dot on the crank, does it face the other gears say 10 o'clock when the first two marks are aligned or directly across from that? I hope that makes sense. My book also doesn't mention the third mark. Thanks again everybody.

 

the third mark that is "on" the actual crank does point toward the other marks,like at about 10am,it points up and to the left towards the other marks. but the marks on the two gears face eachother,just like it shows in the manual.

 

Ok thats what I needed to know, thanks, but my book doesn't even mention the thrd mark, let alone which way it faces.
