Z400 for 5ft 7in 140lb wife? Too much power?
#1
I am about to buy a new dirtbike and my wife tells me that if i get a new dirtbike, then she gets a new quad.
So i have been looking for something for her to ride and i have been looking at the Z400's. They seem great all around, but are they too powerful for a 5ft 7in 140lb girl. My wife is pretty tough, she bombs down runs with me on my snowboard, but she is a beginner at riding a quad and i don't want her thrown off on day 1 and hate riding a quad forever.
Would this be too much power or too big of a quad?
I was thinking that if she didn't like it, i could just use it and get her a smaller one, but any thoughts on if this is too big of a quad for her or not.
I guess its just about how far she wants to push herself.
Anyways..
Thanks for any help,
Brian

Physical size I would say it should be perfect. Power, it could be a little much for a beginner. But, remember........ she does not have to put it to the grips to ride it around.

five foot five wife weighing 105 rides a moded z. Too much quad for her the first few times on the sand. after break in and learning to ride she loves it, cant get enough of it. Are we still talking quads? Oh yeah, Just monitor her progress let her get used to the bike and she will love it.

My wife rides mine around, it is mostly stock. I think that is one of the great things about the Z is that it is capable of being mild mannered then if you want you can open it up and have at it. Also it has the best suspension for a mild mannered quad that also makes it much easer to ride.

cool, thanks for the info.
we.... once again.... went down to the local dealer this weekend to check them out. my wife is amped to get one. she actually loves the 350 raptor as well, but i want to get a water cooled atv. i have heard only good things, plus my friend has one and loves it.
looks like the Z pretty much. just gotta fork out the $$$ now.
