last year I got a hold of an old LT4WD. To say it had a hard life is putting it mildly. It came from a farm where everyone beat it and never maintained it. I nursed it back to running condition and enjoyed it for the summer. It is a great machine, and I can imagine how it could have been when new! Anyway, when I was plowing some snow I got the ominus CLUNK. I pushed it in to the shop and tore down the top end. The connecting rod broke. and I need a head, cam , valves etc. Oh yes the clutch slips too.
Needless to say the engine is Junk. Do I have to find an engine for a 1987 LT4WD or will a different engine or different year be able to fit in this chassis? Since there is no chain drive on this machine I would expect it may be a rare thing to come by?

same engine up to 98 or 99 the 250 or 300 king quad are the same.

 

Rebiuld it. If ya screw it up you still have junk. But if all goes well ya have a fresh quad that you dont have to "imagine new."

 

Also, you won't have to worry about getting someone else's motor that's about ready to blow. You'll then be right back where you started, just a bigger hole in your wallet.

 

might be in luck i seen one on ebay the other day but its a long shot
