Default Eiger skid plates

Looking at buying an Eiger 400 4x4 Auto for my wife and have been told that the stock skid plates "suck"! We ride mostly on trails but do get out in the sagebrush and rocks occassionally. Do I need to look at heavier skid plate?

I've had no problems with the stock plates. Of course, you can get heavier ones, but stock is adequate unless you really abuse it.

You'll be fine with the stock. I've gone with aftermarket, but had hit some pretty nasty rocks with stock and not hurt anything. A heck of a lot easier to clean now though.

I live in WV and we have some pretty rough stuff out here...and i really abuse my quads to the limit....

Have everything stock on every bike i have ever owned and have never had anything bust and oil pan or tranny or anything like that...stock plates are just fine...just dont do somethin stupid like hit a jump and land on jagged rocks or something...
