Default Problem with z250

today i changed my oil and took it out for a ride. after about twenty minutes my quad began to bog down when i got towards full throttle, this only would happen in gear but not in neautral. The engine was real hot so i rode back to my house. I put more oil in, becuase i thought it was short of oil. then i rode it around to check and it was still bogging down for about 2 minutes and then all this sudden the bogging stopped. i pulled it back in my garage and let it sit, and the bogging hasnt happened since. Do any of you know what possibly could have been wrong?

i expected it to maybe have something to do with the jetting but since it stopped im not sure. The bogging only happened at or around full throttle and it sounded as if it wasnt receiving enough feul or it was short of oil. I also checked if i was burning the o rings, and was not. hopefully you all can help me out so this wont happen to me again....thanks

Jetting is one thing...but when that happened to me it was just because I was going up a hill or something and the crap for nothing stock air filters didn't do there job...Although it could easily be anything else because that wasn't on a z250...but still...just something it could be...also check and make sure of the obvious...last time that happened to me on my z400 it was because I had accidentily hit the choke forward when I went of a jump...usually I hit it back and it's fine...but that's all I can think of...haha sorry not the greatest of advice giving but it's all I got.

To make sure, you need to clean your filter. Also make sure you clean you carb, if youve never taken one off, be careful but a z250 isnt bad, Never use wd40 to clean it and use a carb cleaner or gas because its easy. Im only assuming you dont know these so dont get mad. An air compressor with a spray nozzle is awesome for clearing out you jets, but be careful not to blow anything up or out. if it stopped though, you seem to be okay and wierd stuff happens- you may never find out.

also always use filter oil or you might as well dump sand down your airbox

What you could have done was not replaced the oil filter correctly and it may not have been on all the way(possible reason why it was really hot/ reason why it seemed like it was low on oil) then maybe when u came back and put more oil in it then that would have raised the oil pressure causing the by-pass valve in the filter to actuate which may have fixed to problem.
