well marvin shaw shocks up front (13") and an extended swing arm will help you launch . motor wise depends on how much you want to spend . lots to do but not cheap . if your looking for just a little more i would try the shocks and swing arm first .

I just bought a '87 LT500, supposedly the engine was tricked out by some guy named "Jim Duncan" or something, it has "J.D." engraved on the sides of the cylinder. Anyone know anything about this guy? I was told he is in Gresham Oregon.

I have an 88 LT500 with a 87 LT500 engine and it has JD Racing ingraved on the engine and the carb. Wondering if it is the same guy. I tried asking some questions a few months ago and nobody had any ideas-would like to know more on who built my quad also.

I was talking to a guy at my work that used to ride a Banshee, and he sent his stuff to Cascade in Oregon, and they in turn use the J.D. guy for their port work also. So I guess Cascade might be able to get us some info on the guy. He said his Banshee hauled a$$ with his porting..
Mine also has the transmission redone into a 4-speed for hillclimbing sand-dunes. not sure why they would take 5th gear out, but whatever. I guess once I ride it a little bit I'll probably understand it's capabilities a little better. I only rode it in front of the guys house so far.

OK, I talked to the dude I bought it from again to get more clarification. Apparently my engine work was done around 5-7 years ago. Jim Duncan used to be in Gresham OR, but has moved to CA and become DuncanRacing now. So, they are one and the same (At least according to this dude I bought my Zilla from). Here's a pic of my engine:

Um, no. Duncan racing has been around a lot longer. Check this link http://www.duncanracing.com/history/ Duncan Racing
