Default 05 Suzuki King Quad Luggage/Box

I have been looking for a water tight box/luggage that will fit on the rear rack of my 05 KQ. I am looking at this: Luggage

I am not sure if it will fit correctly though on the KQ. The rear rack has a pice that comes up in the back of it, limiting how far back you can mount a dry box on the rack.

I don't want anything to tall, I don't want it to interfere with the rear seat and something that I can take off pretty easy.

Anyone buy anything like this that worked for them?

Thanks.

I have this exact box on the rear of my King. It fits great. Here is a link to some pics:

Thanks for the pics. That helps me with my decision. Doesn't the rear of the rack interfere where part of th rack goes up?

Hey Leadsled...

What no pic of Skip at Carnegie...JK . Heard from the brother in law, he left the store... Dang... what a great guy if you ever had the chance to meet him.... We miss riding there and at Hollister..

We used to live in Livermore, near 4th and Q from 94-2000.... Miss that town for sure.

Nick

I have been using these bags for years, and have never had one leak:

http://www.seallinegear.com/

They are rugged, and they strap down securely with no difference to the quantity of its contents. I have found that those large, rigid luggage boxes require more thoughtful packaging of smaller items without having them rattle around. The larger bags come with a shoulder strap, which makes them conveniently portable.
The disadvantage of the bags is that something has to be on the bottom, and usually other items have to be removed to get to the bottom, although they make some with a side opening. I suggest getting a light colored bag, because they allow more light which increases visiblity when looking for items. They will tear if irritated by excessive rubbing, but I have never had this happen.

ZLZ,
I tried several different boxes before I settled on one from Kolpin. The ones I tried either partially or completely covered the gas cap. Here is a link to some hard luggage that fits: http://secure.mycart.net/catalogs/in...264976&count=1
However, they are not completely dust proof or water proof. I ended up putting a duffle bag inside mine to keep the dust off my clothes, etc.
Good luck.

Thanks for that link. I ended up ordering the Kolpin Contoured. From the measurements, it seems like it should fit nicely. I never thought about the gas cap being in the way.

Who makes a rear box for the King that has the second seat incorporated into it? I saw one on ebay that had this upgrade but it did not say who manufactured the box.

Thanks

My dad has a kolpin box on his king, you can see what it looks like in my pictures. They are not dust proof but are pretty much water proof. It attaches very easily, using a few U-bolts.
