the idle sounds fine. this thing runs great during the day. i even run the snot out of just to try to make it stall. but as soon as u turn on the lights it will only run for about 10 minutes then stalls and wont start. the hood is gone so the battery and lights/wires are exposed and it sits outside all the time so i think it has a short. but the only time it stalls is when the lights are on at night time. i will have to run it with the lights on during the day to see if thats it.

 

Look over the connections at the battery too. If they are coroded , they need to be cleaned and shined up, and reattached.

 

A little embarising. I had the same problem. No one answered my post but found the answer here. DavidLt250S Said about old gas. The quad has not been ridden sence May 05. I drained the tank & carb. Put new gas in and it work's great. Still have to replace my oil return box though it is starting to leak.

 

ok i got on it today. it ran like crap with the lights off. it has new gas and the gas is turned on. so now i think its in the carb.
