If you could do anything to make the turbo rotate easier and make the rotating parts lighter that would help too. I have actually considered putting a turbo on mine but i don't feel like getting a headache. By the way, anyone wanna buy a Yoshimura Slip on for their z250? I'll let it go for about a hundred bucks with shipping.
I have taken that into consideration. I've seen a few 2 stroke single cylinder turbo setups online, but I have yet to see any single cylinder 4 stroke setups. If it doesn't work, no big deal. I only paid $30 shipped for the turbo. Now, this turbo is on the large side, but I could not get my hands on the turbo that I REALLY want (Mitsubishi TD02) for less than $500.

I have thought about your chamber idea. I have also thought about making the pre-turbo exhaust out of 2" schedule 40 weld els. This would be large enough pipe to help decrease the exhaust pulses.

I talked to wiseco today and they said a higher compression/lighter piston will be ready for the z250/ozark around march 10th-15th. Also...we need to get on the ball with e-mailing companies about a rev box and other performance parts for these quads. I'm thinking about going with the DMC alien complete exhaust with the header since i can get it for $350.

I have no idea on who makes aftermarket rev boxes. If one of you guys post up a few links, I'll be more than happy to call and/or email them requesting a rev box for a Z250/Ozark.

Well I Finally built the header. I ended up making it out of stainless tubing and it turned out very nice. Don't know what it sounds like or how it runs yet because I gotta get it welded up tomorrow, I just tacked everything together. I'm going to bring it to my uncle because I don't have any stainless wire for my welder and honestly I can't weld near as good as he can. lol...By the way, Big gun, White Brothers, Dyna Tec, Alba, and Advantage performance are a few people who make/sell rev boxes...unfortuanately none make a rev box for our bike. When they do, my bike is gonna be sick...You can look each one up on the web and PLEASE each of you mail them asking to make a rev box. If you change the cam you'll see why. I post back and let ya'll know how it runs with the new header....

Sounds good LTZGUY. I'll start looking them up and emailing them later today.

Well, my soon to be turbo project has taken a very interesting turn! I found an auction for the smallest turbo ever made for a production car!! It is smaller than a Mitsubishi TD02 (the one I really wanted) and can actualy fit in the palm of your hand!! The turbo was designed in 2000 so it uses new turbo technology (unlike the TD02 that was developed in the early 80's) and comes stock on the Mercedes Smart cars. The motor it is designed for is a 700 cc 3 cylinder making 40 hp and around 73 ft lbs stock! Seeing how our 250 cc motor rev higher than a diesel and I imagine it flows better, my Ozark won't have a problem at all spooling up this turbo!!

There is only one more day left on this auction, and if I win it, I have to wait about 10 days for it to be shipped here from the UK.

Here is a pic showing the size fo this turbo's compressor blade, turbine blade, and the center shaft they are mounted on.

edit: BAH!! I have to make the picture out as a link. Can't post pics for some reason.

The header is 1.5 inches outside diameter. The stock is 1.250 o.d. Well I rode it today. Hard to say what difference, I noticed it whats to hit the rev limiter faster, but i guess the real gain that I might have I can't take advantage of because of that stupid rev limiter. Damn. o well. At least it sounds better. everything i have done so far has pretty much been increasing hp and rpm and not torque. Next project is a wiseco piston and shave some off the head. Maybe I'll remove some weight off of it. Hopefully someone will hear my crying and make a rev box....
