I finally got a bigger carb to work, I used a 32mm carb for a honda 350 rancher. It was free so i figured what the heck. It took quit a bit of modifying, but it idles even better. I havent driven it yet. I got everything working and hooked up like factory except the throttle cable. I gotta run to the hardware in the morning to find a bolt that will screw into the carb and into the cable and then i gotta drill a hole through it so the cable can pass through. Sounds like fun.....I also won a z400 wire harness and cdi box off of ebay. I'm getting a schematic for it tomorrow. I raced a few bikes last weekend. A friend has a 300ex that has everything done to it you can imagine, alcohol, big bore, high compression, biggest cam, stepped header, 4" extended swingarm, no rev limiter, ported head....you name it, he got it. He beat me by about 3-4 bike lengths. I raced a craptor (raptor) too, he beat me by about 5 bikes. Of course I'm picking on things that i can't outrun (yet), but at least I know where i'm at. I also rode a new LTR 450 suzuki for about 5 hours straight. I smoked everything I raced. Raptors, 450rs, yfz450s did not stand a chance. I raced two banshees that had mods done to them, chewed em up and spit them out. There was onlt 2 other bikes that were close, a highly modded raptor and another LTR450. All i can say is its quite fast. Not a good trail bike and it doesn't like to go slow. Its definately a race bike. Well i'll let ya'll know how the carb works tomorrow.

Cool! I'll be waiting on how well it does!!
I'm still in the process of collecting parts for the turbo project. I just won an auction for 2 more vacuum operated fuel pumps. This makes the grand total now 3 vacuum operated fuel pumps. I am going to be testing them to see what kind of pressure they produce, and if it is high enough then I will be using one for a coolant pump (water cooled bearings on the turbo), one for a fuel pump, and one for an oil pump (I think I've decided to just run a stand alone oil system).

Well the lil 250 likes a bigger carb thats for sure. So much in fact that the centrifugal clutch is slipping now pretty bad. I dunno what i'm gonna do, they don't make any upgrades for this. I was warned by a mechanic not to use synthetic oil because it would burn up the clutch. I called my dealer and suzuki and asked them both and they said it would be fine so I figured the mechanic was full of it. Boy was I in for a surprise, the first time I tried mobil 1 synthetic for motorcycles is when i started having problems. So to all of you thinking about using synthetic, I advise against it. I know i'll have a few of you posting back saying you never had a problem, but my engine makes much more power than stock. I'm going to try and scuff up the clutch drum and roughen up the clutch shoes and hope for the best since the clutch shoes are only sold as an assembly for $120. I might see about converting to true manual clutch but i hate to do that. Also I made a homemade k&n style extreme airlid for my air box, it turned out pretty well except for my gluing job...lol. At least it'll keep the sand out. By the way, the 32mm carb i used seemed to bring back some bottom end torque and is alot more responsive than the stock carb, it also starts up much easier. I was kinda worried about that because my goal is to not give up hardly any of the stock characteristics of the bike, reliability, comfort and miliage are all just as important as going faster. I can't have this thing leave me sitting when i'm on a trail 15 miles away from camp. I'd hate for a yamahaha to pull me back. That would be like a dodge pulling my camaro if it broke...just can't happen. Anyway, it I get this stupid clutch figured out, i'm gonna do the higher compression piston next. hopefully I can make this z400 rev box work also....

That's good to hear and thanx for letting us know about the synthetic fluid!! I guess it's a good thing I'm making a standalone oil system for the turbo since I am going to be running synthetic oil for it.
I know I've seen stock clutch parts on Ebay for less than $100. Actually, they have them listed for the Ozark, but it should be the same clutch. For some year models, it's listed as $58.
I spent all day yesterday removing the plastic body parts off of my Ozark. It now sits naked in my garage. I know where I am going to mount the turbo, and am currently looking for the parts that I need to get it done. I am mounting the turbo at the end of the factory head pipe. I am going to attempt to make it a slip fit, but we'll see how well that works out.

The clutch your talking about is the centrifugal part right? There is 2 complete and different clutches in our bike. One has three shoes and is made like a go-kart clutch, and the other is all the plates and drive plates(which I replaced/upgraded). I'm gonna look on ebay, but send me a link if you can....

Here is the link to the clutches for a 2005 Ozark.

And they also list heavy duty clutch springs. They are listed for 2002 through 2004 models.

They list clutches for 2002, 203, 2004, and 2005 Ozark models. Surprisingly, the 2002 model is the most expensive, and the 2004 uis the cheapest, with the 2003 and 2005 being the same price. Very strange.
