went riding on my 06 eiger the other day. stopped and shut it off but when i returned to start it i put it in neutral and the neutral light would not come on and it would not start. i had to put my right hand brake on to start it. (the reverse light also will not come on). i took it back to my dealer the other day and when i got there everything worked like it should. i brought it back home and rode it and the exact same thing happened again. i parked the bike until the next day and when i went to ride it again everything worked. when i shut it off and tried to strart it again no neutral light, no reverse light ,engage brake to start. has anyone had this problem or can tell me what it might be.

 

Is it an automatic? If it is similar to my Vinson, there is a 6 pin connecter that is on the left side (as sitting on it), near the upper right corner of the large opening of the plastic (the opening that allows you to see the rear of the engine and carb). This harness disappears into the right side of the case, in line with the shift shaft (drops into case on the right side, inside of the belt and clutches). Inside of the tranny is the gear selecter sensor. Check this connecter to see if it is fully connected together.

Go outside and try using the kill switch on the left handlebar to duplicate your problem.
