i had mine at little sahara desert in OK, stock with rcm, and it ran good. pulled great till 5th gear and runs fine on flat or slightly uphill, but will power out on steeper stuff. im a little anxious now with the mods. theres some pics in my album of the 230 at sahara.

 

Last winter my quad took a crap, and it was because the coils in the stator were bad; so try replacing the stator.

 

Lol, I wouldnt jump straight to the stator. You are running uber-lean for some reason. Have you inspected the boot from the carb to the engine? Should have orings in between. Take off your intake and put ur hand over the carb to see if it runs any better with most of the air cut off.

ive talked to people that say they hate sand because it gets in everything. theyre nuts, i love the sand. i wish i could have made it out there for spring break this year but maybe i will next time. theres a place 30 miles from me, privately owned/operated that i might go to to tide me over lol.
