Haha, I still log in, I just have to use my girlfriends computer right now because I need a new power supply for mine and I have yet to buy it. Yeh, the lt250r steering stem should bolt-up with little to no modification. The bushings are all the same sizes on the parts diagrams on cheapcycle. I'm going to be buying mine in the next two weeks or so, just waiting on some extra cash to get thrown my way. I've started on a new project in the meantime, building one badass lt500r engine. I just picked up most of an engine for 130, everything but the top end, with no cracks in the cases. It's being shipped tomorrow so I'll take pics when I receive it and post them up. The anti-vibe steering stem should be a great improvement over the stock one on the 230. The only thing big on my bike that is going to be stock over the original 230 is the frame haha, even the engine is from an lt250s.

Is maier the only place to get the plastics from now?

I don't like the way the front plastics are split.

Well, I did figure out a lot. I got my new rings in, motor timed, the black things in, the tensioner fixed, and the cylinder installed. (Obviously not in that order, haha) now all I need to do is bolt on the head. Hopefully. thanks for all of you guys' help!

Its possible. The jugs and heads from different engines will swap around some. The thing about the jug is the stroke length and rod length. The 230 is pretty short. The 250 is a bit longer because of a longer rod. Then the 4x4 jugs are even longer because of longer strokes. The 4x4 heads are the same except for a bigger intake valve and no frame mount on top and I think the exhaust port comes out straight instead of an angle.

I don't know anything about the DR, so I can't say, but if you find out something, let us know.

The cam is probably similar. They all will swap around, but they have different grinds. A, B, C, D, E, F, G. G is the highest duration from the 250S. D or E (forgot) is a 230 cam. A and B are 4x4 cams. I use the G cam in everything... even my 4x4.

The 250 4x4 has ovate springs. They're like super springs. Don't know why they come on a 4x4 engine, but if you install these springs, you won't have any valve float.

I think the head and rocker cover are machined as a set for the cam bearings. Just a note. I wouldn't swap rocker covers on different heads.

They probably used the same head on everything from 185 to 300 with minor changes.
